Evaluation study of hybrid fibre reinforced concrete using waste foundry sand and vermiculite

In this work, leftover foundry sand and vermiculite were used as partial replacements for fine coarse aggregates in hybrid fibre reinforced concrete (HFRC). The study also concentrated on HFRC mix percentage optimization to achieve desired attributes. By creating multiple mixtures with varied ratios of vermiculite. mechanical characteristics the assessed. Tests HFRC’s permeability, water absorption, chloride ion penetration evaluate its durability. comparison ordinary concrete, shows that adding increased durability It was discovered has stronger compressive, splitting tensile, flexural strengths than regular concrete. conventional showed less penetration. research determined ratio produced maximum strength, tensile compressive strength. Vermiculite made up 10% mix’s aggregate replacement, while discarded 20% replacement. Sustainable development now requires waste materials be building. This uses (WFS) assess properties.
